BIG DEAL IN HOUSES

INVESTMENT OF £400,000. No fewer than 325 houses at Acton, Middlesex, with an annual rent roll of over £40,000, have recently changed bands. It is understood that the price paid is about £400,000 and that the purchaser has bought for investment. The houses are known as the Hanger Hill Garden Estate, which adjoins West Acton Station on the Central London Railway. They contain three or four bedrooms, each has a garage and all are let on five-year leases. Developed within the last seven years, the estate includes a sports ground with pavilion run by the tenants. A feature of the estate is that the landlord undertakes outside repairs and, out of a garden rate paid by the tenants, maintains a staff for the upkeep of front gardens, hedges and shrubberies.
