CHILLED BEEF

SHIPMENT FROM SYDNEY. (United Press Assn.— Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10 p.m.) Sydney, October 25. The first shipment of chilled beef by an Orient liner, consisting of 200 quarters, was loaded into the Otranto today and will be sold on the Smithfield market off the hooks in competition with Argentine. The Orient Line has specially fitted two holds for the experiment. A section of to-day s shipment is being carried under ordinary chilling methods and the other section under the carbon dioxide process which has proved so encouraging. Four other shipments have been booked for the next three months.
