WOMEN’S DIVISION
INVERCARGILL BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Invercargill branch of the Women’s Division was held on Friday when Mrs Arnott presided over a fair attendance of members. Sympathy was extended to Mrs McDowell in her accident and consequent illness and with Mrs Coster, the librarian, who is also ill. Mrs McLean was appointed librarian during Mrs Coster’s absence. It was decided to advertise the monthly meetings two or three days previous to the date of meeting. Meetings are to be continued on the fourth Friday except on the day of the Provincial Executive quarterly meeting, when the Invercargill branch will meet the previous Friday. It was stated that there was no entry fee in connection with the wool exhibition to be held at the Invercargill Summer Show. A demonstration on poker work had been arranged for the September meeting. Mrs Arnott read an interesting report on the Dominion Conference which was received with acclamation. A practical and interesting demonstration was pven by Mrs Warnock (Seaward Downs) on the making of moccasins and members were permitted to avail themselves of paper patterns. Mrs Warnock was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
