INDIAN GIRL WIDOW
SUTTEE ATTEMPTED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Calcutta, August 28. Overcome with grief at the death of her husband aged 24, a girl aged 16 at Diamond Harbour, Calcutta, attempted suttee. She threw herself on the blazing pyre, clinging to the burning body. Mourners rescued her senseless and extensively burned.
