DANGER OF FLOODS. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) Calcutta, August 28. The famous Shydk ice dam in the Karakoram range in the Himalayas is reported to have burst and a tremendous volume of water coming down the Indus threatens to inundate the Punjab and Kashmir. This dam holds back an artificial lake formed 17,000 feet up the Karakoram range, which on the occasion of a previous bursting caused flood waters 50 feet high at the Attack bridge, 600 miles from the dam.
