The hockey enthusiasts of the district have been taking a keen interest in the New Zealand ladies’ hockey tournament at Dannevirke as two of the Riversdale players are in the team which is defending the K Cup. On Monday night a meeting of the young people was held in the Plunket Rooms. The report of the recent prosperity ball was presented and the bal-ance-sheet showed a credit balance. It was decided to hold a young people’s ball next month.
Tuesday night was the final night of the fortnightly euchre tournaments, held in aid of the Plunket Society’s funds. After an enjoyable evening’s play the winners were Mrs J. Stevenson and Mr G. McKenzie, while Mrs Tinnock and Mr J. Ibbotson won the second prizes. Mrs Tinnock and Mr H. Greer were the winners of the aggregate prizes. After the presentation of the prizes Mr H.
