HEAVY DAMAGE
TORNADO STRIKES MANILA. MANY BUILDINGS WRECKED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, October 11. A tornado swept through the Manila district causing damage amounting to thousands of pounds. Sweeping along a quarter of a mile front it demolished sheds and fencing, killing a large number of poultry and live stock. One station homestead was destroyed and others were unroofed. Numerous barns, woolsheds and garages were demolished. The Kiori siding station was smashed to pieces and 20 telephone posts were broken. Both electric and telephone services were put out of action.
