BRADMAN AND TESTS
MOVE TO END DEADLOCK. PLAY-WRITER QUESTION. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, October 11. The Sydney Morning Herald says that as a means of ending the deadlock which threatens to prevent Bradman representing Australia in the tests, certain members of the Board of Control are moving to rescind the resolution of the board which was confirmed at the recent Sydney meeting and which provides that only a player “solely” employed in journalism be permitted to write for the Press and play in the tests. The Melbourne correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that if Bradman persists in his intention to write, even though he gives an undertaking to the board not to comment on any player, the final attitude of the board is that he shall not be eligible to play in the tests. This was stated at a meeting of the board by the chairman, Mr Robertson, after a clash had occurred on the board’s ruling. MAURICE TAT’S EXAMINATION BY SPECIALIST. London, October 10. The Marylebone Committee has decided that Maurice Tate should see a specialist to-morrow.
