GERMAN DECREE
IMPOSITION OF CRISIS TAX. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.15 p.m.) Berlin, June 14. Herr von Papen’s Government's first emergency decree imposes a crisis tax by a so-called contribution to the unemployment funds. It varies according to the taxpayer’s income from li to 6J per cent. A salt tax of 20 per cent, yielding £2,000,000 is also imposed. » Dole payments to the unemployed are to be cut to the extent of £35,000,000, and war pensions will also be reduced. It is understood that the ban on Nazi troops will be removed. The Bavarian Premier is said to have informed Herr von Papen that if he sends a Reich commissioner to Munich, as proposed, the police will arrest him.
