A BAD RECORD

YOUTH ADMITS MANY CHARGES. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, June 14. Hugh Francis Haughey, aged 20, admitted 23 charges, including theft, conversion’of cars, carrying firearms, and unlawfully escaping from custody and was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention to-day by the Magistrate, Mr Mosley. The offences include robbing a blind man of £3 10/- by a false cheque. The police said some of the crimes had been committed in a bare-faced manner while on remand.
