The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rangitane, before sailing for New Zealand from London, on April 7, will call at west coast ports of the United Kingdom in place of the Tekoa, which was to leave Liverpool on April 7. The Rangitane will not call at New Plymouth. The Opawa, which is scheduled to leave Liverpool on May 14, wil call at New Plymouth, her discharging ports being Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. There is a long-standing claim by the Admiralty against the Wanganui Harbour Board for the cost of delivering the dredge Kaione to Wanganui (says the Chronicle). The claim appeared again in the order paper for the board’s meeting last week, the solicitor to the Treasury advising that the Lords of the Admiralty could not agree to the suggestion that the payment of the sum of £13,000 stand over until the exchange rate was more favourable. They asked that the board carry out the agreement and pay in cash. The board decided to merely receive the intimation. At present the Kaione is a source of revenue to the board. She has just completed a period of hire to the New Plymouth Harbour Board, for which the Wanganui body has received a cheque for £2500. The dredge has been chartered to the Napier Board for a period of three months. Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Remuera, en route from Wellington to London, sailed from Colon on March 20. She left Wellington on February 22. The Matson Line steamer Sonoma left Los Angeles on March IS for Honolulu, Pago Pago, Suva, Auckland, and Sydney. The Sonoma is due at Auckland on April 8 and will continue her voyage the same day. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Rotorua, en route from London to Suva, Wellington. Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Timaru, and New Plymouth, left Panama on March 20. She is due at Wellington on April 18. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's steamer Pakeha left London last Thursday morning in ballast for New Zealand to load for the United Kingdom. She is coming via the. Panama canal, and is expected to reach New Zealand about April 26.
