INVERCARGILL BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the committee was held in the secretary's office on Wednesday, March 16. Those present were: Mrs Ritchie Crawford, vice-president, in the chair, Mesdames J. Macleod, J. Callender, W. S. Todd, J. D. Mitchell, J. Thomson, J. D. Campbell, J. S. Nelson, A. S. Russell and Captain Waterhouse. Apologies were received from Mesdames Royds, Derbie, Carswell and Strang. The following were appointed a visiting committee for next month: Karitane-Hunt Hospital: Mesdames Ritchie Crawford, R. M. Strang, W. Todd, A. Derbie and J. S. Nelson; Anderson Home: Mrs J. D. Campbell; Rest Room, Mrs A. Russell; South Invercargill: Mrs J. Thomson ;,Gladstone: Mrs J. Macleod. Arrangements were made for members of the committee to assist with collection for the Southland Social Helpers’ Association on Friday, March 18. The St. Jbhn’s Ranger Company Girl Guides are prepared to undertake any kind of work, sewing or knitting, proceeds to be given to the Karitane-Hunt Hospital. Orders may be left with Mrs J. S. Nelson, telephone No. 2085.' Will any member who has not paid her subscription for the current year which ends on March 31, please hand same to Plunket Nurse, any member of committee or secretary, Miss Hackworth, Newburgh’s Buildings. The following are nurses’ reports for month ending February 29: Nurses Maclntyre and Rhind stated that the general health of the babies in the Anderson Plunket Home, as throughout the district, had been good. There had been 56 total new cases, including 41 at the centre. Forty-seven new cases, and 364 old cases comprised the visits made to homes, while 228 adults, 196 babies and 41 older children had visited the office. This made a total of 876 babies and 302 older children under supervision. Six letters had been received, and three written. Reporting on Waikiwi, Nurse Maclntyre stated that during her 4 visits, she had paid 34 visits to homes, while 42 adults, 37 babies and 11 older children had visited the office. There had been 3 new cases for the month.

Nurse Rhind reported that during her four visits to South. Invercargill, she had visited 206 homes, while 92 adults, 88 babies and 29 older children had visited the rooms, including 2 new cases. During her 4 visits to the Rest Room, 97 adults, 83 babies and 13 older children had come in for attention, including 22 new cases. Reporting on sub-branches, Nurse Wilson stated that there was a total number of 305 under observation. During her 2 visits to Ohai, she had visited 4 homes, while 29 adults, 26 babies and 4 older children had visited the rooms, including 2 new cases. During her 4 visits to Riverton, she had visited 11 homes, while 41 adults, 40 babies anil 7 older children had visited the rooms, including 3 new cases. Four visits had been paid to Bluff—she had called at 25 homes, while 49 adults, 48 babies and 10 older children, including 1 new case, had visited the rooms. Otautau had been visited twice —11 visits to homes, while 27 adults, 27 babies and 4 older children had visited the rooms, including 1 new case. Orepuki—twice, with 20 adults, 19 babies and 6 older children visiting rooms —1 new ' case - . Tuatapere had been visited 5 times—--25 visits had been made to homes, while 54 adults, 50 babies and 12 older children had visited rooms, and there had been 7 new cases.
