ARMED INTRUDER
CHEQUE FOR £950 DEMANDED. (United Press Assn,—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 12.25 a.m.) Sydney, March 10. An armed man entered the manager’s office of a brick and tile works in the suburb of Stanmore and forced Arthur Shannon, the proprietor, to sign a cheque for £950, then decamped. Mr Shannon gave the alarm and three police, after a terrific fight, overpowered and arrested the alleged culprit. Charles Rich. Several charges were preferred.
