TEN BRIDGES WASHED AWAY.

Melbourne, December 17,

Very heavy rains in the north-west and central districts washed away ten bridges and damaged eight others. Twelve washaways occurred on the railway lines. Seven motor cars were carried away by the flood waters, and severe damage was done to wheat and tomato crops.
