CRUDE OIL ENGINES
ADOPTED BY LONDON BUSES. PETROL SUPREMACY CHALLENGED. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, September 19. A fleet of 109 buses, which will shortly be running in London streets driven by crude oil engines represent the most serious challenge to the supremacy of petrol yet made in any country. This oil gives greater mileage per gallon and is cheaper than the cheapest petrol. The engine runs on neither carburettor nor electrical ignition systems, and the risk of fire is eliminated.
