NEW POLITICAL BODY

ANNOUNCEMENT NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 4. The announcement in the Christchurch Times that steps are being taken to form a new political body to be known as the Independent Reform Association with Mr P. Perrin as organizer, was referred to Mr A. E. Mander, Dominion secretary of the Reform League. He said it was the first he had heard of any such movement. “I have no idea of who Mr Perrin is, and I would like to know the names of other members of the organization. I know nothing whatever about it.” There is disinclination in Wellington political circles to take the announcement seriously. Christchurch has rather a reputation just now in the matter of new parties, and both there and in other parts of the Dominion there have been announcements of which nothing more is heard.
