COMBINED GORE v. SOUTH OTAGO. . MATCH AT BALCLUTHA. A team selected from players of the Gore and Celtic Clubs travelled to Balclutha on Wednesday to meet a South Otago combination. Weather conditions' were perfect and the wicket was in good order. Gore went to the wickets first and compiled a score of 124 runs before being dismissed. Miller played a splendid innings, and he carried his bat for 55 runs. The only other batsman to reach double figures was Howells, whose tally was 17. The fielding of the home team was keen, and eight- of the visitors were caught out. South Otago opened well and at one stage the score was 6 for 90 runs, but the last five batsmen only added six runs. The home team was dismissed for 117, giving the visitors a victory b'- seven runs. The Gore players were most hospitably entertained, and they had a very enjoyable outing. The detailed scores were as follow: GORE.
