LEAGUE OF NATIONS, PEARLS AND SWINE.
To the Editor. Sir, — I sent you a booklet entitled “Organizing Peace,” for your correspondent, Slim Jim’s, perusal, as a first step in his education. That booklet was prepared in 1924 by’ a very competent writer, Maxwell Garnett, and has already’ passed through not less than four editions. It is considered to be one of the best of the many’ excellent pamphlets issued by’ the League of Nations Union and has had a wide circulation. There are many books on the League of Nations published by' men of the highest authority, but "Organizing Peace,” being simple and elementary, seemed to me to be suited to the capacity of such and one as your correspondent who had shown himself to be ignorant even of the A B C of the subject. Your correspondent has read the booklet and, with much grunting, has pronounced it “a conglomeration of professional eyewash.” 1 really’ cannot continue to cast pearls before swine.—l am, W. MACALISTER.
