PACIFIC FLIGHT
AUSTRALIAN REPLY. TO DOMINION’S CONGRATULATIONS. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 30. The following cable has been received by the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. J. G. Coates) from the Right Hon. S. M. Bruce from Canberra: “On behalf of my Government and the people of Australia, I desire to express to you, your Government and the people of New Zealand our warm appreciation and thanks for the encouraging messages received in connection with the momentous flight of Captain Kingsford Smith and his companions. These messages again demonstrated the feeling of brotherhood, goodwill and understanding which exists between the people of Australia and New Zealand. We are still animated by the same common ideals and aspirations that were the pleasing feature of our association during the dark days of the war and we are mutually stirred by pride at the achievements of our sons.” ACROSS THE TASMAN EXPERTS TO START IN THREE WEEKS. (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) Sydney, July 2. Kingsford Smith states he hopes to commence the flight to New Zealand within lhe next three weeks if the weather is satisfactory.—Australian Press Association.
