WIMBLEDON TOURNAMENT. London, June 29. The Wimbledon championships, which began on Monday and will continue through next week, are proving as popular as ever, and there is little doubt that last year’s attendance record of 200,000 for the whole meeting will be exceeded. There were 12,000 on the ground to-day one hour before play began. Fine weather has enabled good progress to be made in all the events.
