NO FUND

ENTERTAINMENT EXPENSES. SYDNEY CIVIC COMMISSION’S POSITION. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, April 15. The omission of a necessary provision in the legislation appointing the Sydney Civic Commission has led to an unexpected position. No fund has been established from which the entertainment of distinguished visitors can be paid and Chief Commissioner Fleming must foot the bill until legislative relief is afforded. The Lord Mayor was formerly voted £l5OO per annum for the purposes of entertainment.—Australian Press Association.
