GORE EX-HIGH CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. (From Our Correspondent.) At the annual meeting of the Gore ExHigh Hockey Club held last evening, the president, Mr W. Gee, presided over a large attendance of members. ANNUAL REPORT. The report read as follows: Seven teams were entered for the competition and from these teams some very keen games of hockey were witnessed. Considering that the ex-High Club had so few players upon whom they could call they did exceptionally well. Towards the end of the season it could be seen that only Wyndham A, High School and Hokonui had a chance of annexing the Hamilton Cup. In an exceptionally fine match with High School, Wyndham .A were victorious, thus winning the trophy which they hold for the ensuing twelve months. During the season several seven-a-side tournaments were held, but in these the club team was not successful. The following members of the team were chosen for the Eastern team to play in the annual Dominion tournament held at Palmerston North: Misses I. Stewart and V. Nichol, Miss Stewart being chosen as captain of the team. Midway through the year a dance was held in the Town Hall and this proved to be very successful as the sum of £3 15/- was raised. The balance sheet showed a credit of £7 15/6. The report was adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following office-bearers were elected: —President, Mr W. Gee; vice-presidents, staff of Gore High School and Messrs G. C. Hamilton, W. L. McGoldrick, R. B. Bannerman and J. McK. Millar; secretary, Miss E. Bettridge; assistant secretary, Miss E. Smith; committee, Misses' C. Moore, E. Smith, M. Wilson and the captain and deputy captains; delegates to association, Mr G. C. Hamilton and Miss E. Bettridge. It was decided to hold the opening practice on March 28. THE HOKONUI (GORE) CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Hokonui Hockey Club was held last week, Mr A. D. Crawford presiding over a very large attendance of members, players and intending players. The annual report and balance sheet were presented as follow, and duly adopted:— Your committee has pleasure in stating that the year just concluded has been very successful. The membership roll has increased and has almost doubled. The balance sheet shows a credit of £2 2/- and your committee deems this to be most satisfactory. Two teams were entered in the Eastern competition, viz., an A and a B grade. Although neither team was successful in winning the premiership each team, nevertheless, gave a very good account of itself. The A grade ended the playing season runners-up to Wyndham. Your club was represented in the Eastern touring team by Misses P. Crawford, H. Crawford, E. Johnston and C. Strachan. At the four seven-a-side tournaments at which your club was represented the team won one, and in two others, it was runner-up. At the tourney held in conjunction with Gore’s Gaiety Gala the Hokonui team won the consolation event. The club extends its congratulations to all the players. Your committee desires to thank all the officers and members of the club for the support given during the year The following officers wer6 elected: President, Mr A. D. Cunningham; delegates to Eastern Southland Hockey Association, Miss P. Crawford and Mr H. Halliday.
