MINISTERS’ TOUR

VISIT TO ROTORUA. (Per United Press Association.) Rotorua, March 26. This morning the Minister of Lands, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K. S. Williams, and Mr K. M. Graham, Crown Lands, accompanied by Mr F. C. Hockley, the member for Rotorua, visited the Atiamuri Homestead Settlement and examined the claims of settlers, schemes of development, reading, schooling and dealing with the existing educational reserves. The Ministers was sympathetically inclined and promised an investigation into the points raised. In the afternoon the Ministerial party visited local farms where work was being carried out in regrassing. They also received local deputations. To-morrow they proceed to Te Parke on the Kaituna drainage matters and later the Waihi swamp works, proceeding thence to the Tauranga railway opening on March 28.
