RESIDENT OF TARANAKI. (Rec. 8.40 p.m.) Sydney, March 26. The unknown soldier who has been a patient in a mental hospital for eleven years has been identified as McQuay, of Taranaki.—A. and N.Z. The Sydney Returned Soldiers’ League for some time past has been trying to establish the identity of an unknown patient in the mental hospital, Sydney, where he has been for eleven years suffering from loss of memory. The league believed the unknown soldier to be a New Zealander and communicated with the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association.
