THE RAM FAIR.

To the Editor. Sir, —It seems to me that there is not a sheep man on the Southland A. and P. Association judging from the way the Ram Fair on Saturday was managed, or rather mismanaged. As far as prices were concerned the Ram Fair was a great success. From the point of view of breeders, however, it was most unsatisfactory, for with the sheep in pens in rear of a narrow race it was impossible for intending purchasers to get a chance at all to examine the sheep or see what they were buying. Why does not the association adopt the suggestion that an arena be made into which the sheep could be brought as they were being put up and from w'hich all attending the sale could obtain a clear view of the animals.— I am, etc., COMMON SENSE.
