BEACH SCARE

GIRL AND OCTOPUS. London, June 8. A large octopus suddenly emerged from the sea at Cadagues (Spain), telegraphs the Madrid correspondent of The Times and attacked a girl lying on the beach, seizing her by the skirt. The onlookers were terrified, but the girl, with great self-possession, slipped out of her dress, and the octopus, with the garment still gripped in its tentacles, went back into the sea. —Sun Special.
