EFFECT OF 44-HOURS WEEK. BIG INCREASE IN WAGES BILL. (Rec. 10.25 p.m.) Melbourne, July 12. As the result of the 44-hours week recently awarded by the Arbitration Court the Victorian Railways’ Wages bill will be increased by £610,000 per year.—A. and N.Z.
