CONSULAR CORPS

ANNUAL DINNER AT WELLINGTON. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, July 15. The annual dinner of the Wellington Consular Corps was held this evening, at which 15 Consuls were present and a number of ladies and others. Apologies were received from a number who could not attend, including M. Paul A. D. Serre, ConsulGeneral for France and the Dean of the Auckland Consular Corps. Mr Frank Dyer proposed th® health of the Dean (Mr W. H. Lowrie, America) and in extending a welcome back to New Zealand to Mr and Mrs Lowrie, who have lately been on a holiday trip to America, he mentioned that, the Wellington Corps was now firmly established, and he had advice from Dunedin that the Consuls were now establishing a Corps in that city. In replying, Mr Lowrie said although he and Mrs Lowrie had had a very happy holiday in America they were glad to be back in New Zealand. They had made many friends here and looked upon this country as their home now.
