The Evening Standard states that the purchaser of Wembley is Mr James White, chairman of the Beecham Triet, who is acting on behalf of a syndicate.—Reuter. A WORLD S SPORT CENTRE. (Rec. 9.15 p.m.) London, June 16. It is announced that White’s syndicate intends to convert Wembley into the world’s sport centre. A colossal scheme includes the erection of a stadium. It is not to be only the permanent home of the cup final, but it is hoped to play international Rugby there instead of at Twickenham, also international athletics. —Sqn Cable.
