A SPLIT PARTY
CORK ■. .S ■ ; \LLI. ATIONS. Lor don, Apr. 5. The Daily Hetaid’s .-nrehl correspondent at Chiasso says Mussolini's long speech at the Fascist Grand Council last week was not, as given out, a review of the foreign position, especially the crisis within the Fascist ranks. The withdrawal of Signor Farinacci from the secretaryship did not settle the profound rift in the party; in fact his successor, Turati, inherited the situation of confusion and disorder. A most significant indication is Musßolini’s decision to make control of the Fascist management committee his own task. One phase of the struggle is the demand for a general election. Signor Federzoni is reported to be willing to negotiate an electoral alliance with the head of the industrial group and is anxious to pacify opposition aroused by *he Fascist policy—A. & N.Z.
