QUEEN’S PARK LADIES’ CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Queen’s Park Ladies’ Golf Club was held in the Women’s Club last evening, Miss M. C. Perrin presiding. The annual report stated that the increase of the membership, reported in the previous year, had continued, and stood at 124. Referring to the play of the year the report recorded that the A Grade Championship was won by Mrs C. F. A. Jones, with Mrs Tansley runner-up; the B Grade Championship was won by Mrs A. E. Smith, with Mrs P. J. Israel runner-up. The C Grade Competition was won by Miss Vowles, with Mrs H. P. Thomas runner-up. The Silver Division of the L.G.U. medals was won by Mrs Masters, and the Bronze Division by Mrs W. J. Barclay; and the Captain’s Prize was won by Mrs W. Macfarlane. The Ringers Competition continued to be keenly contested, and the change from daily ringers to once a week, seemed to meet with general approval. The A Grade was won by Mrs Masters, B Grade by Mrs W. F. Scandrett, and the C Grade by Mrs James O’Donnell. During the season the senior grades entertained the new members to a match (foursomes), and to afternoon tea, and this proved to be thoroughly enjoyed by the beginners. The club’s thanks were due to the following ladies who provided prizes during the season:—Mesdames Masters, Israel, J. Macleod, T. F. Macdonald, W. J. Barclay, J. O’Donnell, D. Cochrane, G. W. Woods, and the Misses Perrin, Campbell, Crofts and Hamilton. They had also to thank Mr B. C. Galloway for his generous trophy towards the prize list. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory surplus. Starting the season with a debit of 13/6, the club closed it with a credit balance of £9 2/6. Thanks were due to Mr W. J. Brooke for auditing ;he books. Dealing with the links the report says:—“During the year large alterations have been in operation, and a considerable number of bunkers added to the course. This increases our difficulties, and in many cases the distance of some of the holes have been increased, with the result that some alteration is required to our score cards. Various improvements have been made to the ladies’ quarters, and the committee have to thank the Men’s Club for their co-operation in this connection. The committee wish to thank the members in general for their generosity in providing afternoon teas regularly on match days.” In conclusion the report says that the members appointed at the previous annual meeting held in Y.M.C.A. Rooms resigned, and a special general meeting was called in the Southland Women’s Club Rooms, when the following were appointed:—Miss M. C. Perrin, president; Mrs A. Masters, captain; Mrs P. J. Israel, secretary; Miss I. N. ‘ Sreirs, treasurer; Mesdames T. F. Macdonald, W. J. Barclay, J. O’Donnell and H. 0. Stuckey. Seven meetings, which were well attended, were held during the year. Miss Perrin moved the adoption of this report, and referred to the satisfactory financial progress made last year, when the riub had started with a debit of 13/6 and finished with an asset of £9 2/6. The report was adopted. Following the appointments of Miss Mar-u-ry Pilcher as secretary, and Miss Molly Hamilton a« treasurer, the following were '•lected to the committee: Mesdames H. P. Thomas, H. 0. Stuckey, R. H. J. Camm, W. G. Tait and Miss Dorothy Stout. It was decided that the filling of the remaining vacancies should be referred to the com-;i-ittee. which was recommended to consider the advisability of forming a Match Committee, consisting of two members and the ccretary, to fill the duties of captain. Votes of thanks to Mrs A. -Masters, the retiring captain, for the generous support she had given the club since its inception, end to Mrs C. J. Israel, who had filled the position of secretary for the last year, were carried by acclamation. The question of holding an Easter Tournament was then discussed. It was stated that, owing to the meagre support given the tournament last year, it was a financial loss, and in view of the manv counter- • ’tractions this season, it was decided to abandon it this year. The allocation of dates to the opening and closing days was left to the committee. Trophies for the coming season were given bv Mrs J. W. Willett, Mrs W. G. Tait' and Mi c s Stout. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the retiring president (Miss Perrin).
