CONFERENCE OPENED

COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS’ ASSOCIATION. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, March 17. The Commercial Travellers’ United Association conference was opened to-day in the Commercial Travellers’ Club rooms by Mr H. B. Taverner, Deputy-Mayor. The .executive discussed hotel and railway im utters. The accident insurance scheme was discussed <a.nd a motion “that a system of mortuary benefit surrender values on the transfer of members from one association to .another as laid down by actuary and produced at the conference be adopted,” was discussed, and after being explained by Hr J. W. Kenniburgh (actuary) was carried unanimously. To-night the delegates were the guests of the united president, Mr James Brown, at a dinner. The conference resumes tomorrow.
