OVERSEAS TOUR. “A NATIONAL PROJECT.” SUBSCRIPTION LISTS TO BE OPENED. The following telegram has been received by the Southland Times from the president of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association council: — “In compliance with a strongly expressed public desire that Randolf Rose, the Dominion champion distance runnel be sent abroad to compete against the world’s best runners in international contests, the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Council has invited the co-operation of all local centres to raise the necessary funds and to. invoke the assistance of the local Press to facilitate the movement. The matter being one of great urgency the council ventures to ask your kind practical assistance in this national project and will appreciate if your paper can open a list. The amount subscribed up to the present in Wellington is £lso.—McVilly, pr&ident; Tracy, secretary, N.Z.A.A.A.” Subscriptions may be sent to this office and will be acknowledged in the column ns qI the Southland Times.
