MONSTER ART UNION

FIRST PRIZE £2OOO. LAUNCHING OF BIG EFFORT. What is stated to be the biggest eSort of its kind that has so far been organised in New Zealand, the Dominion All-Gold Art Union, will shortly be placed before the public. The object of this monster movement is to provide a fund which will not only be for the benefit of Rugby football, but for hockey, Soccer, cricket and kindred sport. The prises, which are all in alluvial gold, comprise:—£2ooo for first, £5OO for second, £lOO for third and 97 other prizes. Hie organisation is absolutely complete throughout New Zealand and the sanction of the Minister of Internal Affairs has been obtained. A branch of the organisation has been established in every town of any riae throughout the Dominion, and tickets win be issued at the moderate price of 2/- each, or 11 tickets for £l. "The reception I got in the North Island was simply wonderful,” said the Dominion Organiser and Secretary (Mr W. G. Compton) to a Tunes representative, “and from Canterbury alone, we have received orders for 2400 books before the Art Union is launched.” The opening date is May 15, and the Art Union is scheduled to close on September 15, but earlier if fully subeuDbed.
