THE DOMINION

WHAT OF THE FUTURE? (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 28. Speaking in the House of Representatives to-night, Mr T. K. Sidey said that there was, he feared, grave apprehension on the part of many people as to where the Dominion was drifting. They were piling up public indebtedness in a manner never dreamed of a few years ago. The Premier once stormed against this very tendency, but he saw things in a different light now. But the fact was that many people gravely feared that they might have difficulty in meeting their financial obligations if the prices of the staple products should fall or their markets disappeared under more intense competition. Perhaps the Premier, who was now forced to be optimistic, might have something to say on this point.
