SINGLE TICKETS
WHY ONLY AVAILABLE FOR FOUR DAYS ? In the House of Representatives on Friday, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr T. M. Wilford) asked the Minister for Railways without notice, if he would repeal the regulation which limited the use of the single ticket to four days. He had had a case brought before him that morning, added Mr Wilford, of a lady who took a single ticket from Invercargill to Auckland, but was taken ill, and had to get off at Christchurch, and she could not use the ticket because the four days had expired. The present system was most absurd, and he thought that the time should be extended to a month.
The Minister said he did not quite know what the position was, but he would be glad to look into the matter and let the hon. member know.
