The Minimum Subscription at which the Directors may proceed to Allotment has been increased from 20,000 to 30,000 Shares. SOLICITORS: MESSRS SMITH AND DOLAMORE, Solicitors, Gore. ACTING AUDITOR: FRANK YOUNG, Accountant, Mersey Street, Gore. INTERIM SECRETARY AND CHIEF BROKER: FREDERICK HUBERT LABATT, P.O. Box 113 Gore (and at Inglis’s Buildings, Christchurch). The Company is being formed for the purpose of establishing a Woollen Mill or Mills in or near Gore and elsewhere as may be considered advisable from time to time by the Directors. In suggesting Gore as the site for the proposed Mill, the promoters have been impressed with the undoubted advantages of the town for this particular industry. The town is most favourably situated in regard to transit facilities, water supply, and hydro-electric power. It is in close proximity to Mataura, where well-known industries are already established, and in connection with which a certain amount of labour will be available. Gore, which is the second largest town in Southland, has shown considerable municipal enterprise, and will in consequence prove an attractive residential centre to the operatives in this and other industries. The establishment, therefore, of Woollen Mills in the favourably-situated locality in the Gore district must strongly appeal to investors generally and particularly to wool-growers, who, as practical men, will recognise the undoubted economic advantages by curtailment of railages, freights, etc., of having the medium of manufacture situated in close proximity to the source of supply. In this connection it may be mentioned that the number of sheep in the Dunstan, Clutha, and Southland Subdivisions in 1923 amounted to over 3,330,000. The Company will have the advantage of being able to instal the latest type of machinery in the Mills. The buildings, plant and general equipment will be of the most modern and up-to-date description in every respect. Advantage will also be taken to avail of the latest labour-saving appliances in every department of the MUI. There are only a few woollen mills in the Dominion which are public companies, and these have l>een long-estab-lished. ranging from 26 to 50 years. No new woollen manufacturing company has been formed as a public company in the South Island during the past 25 years. The formation of the Southland Woollen Mills, Ltd., will, therefore, give th® Southland public an opportunity of securing an investment at par value in an industry which has, under sound management, returned handsome profits for a number of years past, as reference to balance-sheets will prove. NO PROMOTERS’ SHARES ARE BEING ISSUED IN CONNECTION WITH THE FLOTATION OF THE COMPANY. Attention is drawn to the exceptionally Easy Terms on which Shares in the Company can be subscribed—viz., calls of oniy 2/- per Share at intervals of not less than three months. Thus the payment of callmoney extends over a period of approximately two years. APPLICATIONS FOR SHARES may be made to— F. H. LABATT, Chief Broker, P.O. Box 113, Gore (or Inglis’s Buildings, Christchurch), or Also— T. L. ADAMS, Organiser, Gore. W. A. OTT & CO., LTD., Sharebroker, Invercargill.
