BRITISH AIRCRAFT

A GERMAN PROHIBITION. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 7. The German denial that Germany intends withdrawing her license permitting Britain’s big aircraft to land in Germany after July 1 has proved to be inaccurate. It is disclosed that none of the British Imperial Airways, Ltd., new fleet of superair liners have flown via Germany since last Tuesday. Under the German ban the company has been forced to substitute one small four-passenger aeroplane, which conforms with the restrictions imposed on Germany by the Versailles Treaty. Serious international complications have resulted from Britain’s unavailing efforts to secure the lifting of the ban. France is greatly alarmed, and fears that Britain, in an endeavour to safeguard her flying industry, will insist on a modification of the Versailles Treaty in a form favourable Germany.
