AMERICAN MEDICAL SCANDAL. PROMINENT DOCTOR SENTENCED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, June 19. A St. Louis (Missouri) message says that the State-wide investigation into the medical frauds, particularly the so-called “diploma mills,” resulting in the conviction of Dr Robert Adcox, a noted St. Louis physician, who was sentenced to two years in a penitentiary. It is stated that it was proved that Dr Adcox bribed the local superintendent of schools to issue to medical college registrants a certificate falsely declaring that the registrant had completed a higjh school education, thus enabling him to enter a medical college. This is the State’s first conviction in connection with the medical frauds, and paves the way to sentencing a group of Dr Adcox’s associates.
