DIRECTORS’ MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Southland A. ami P. Association directors was held yesterday in the secretary’s office, Esk Micef. Mr A. S. Holms, president, being in the chair. The New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association wrote offering two silver shields for competition at (he forthcoming show, to be given in the following classes:—-Rom-ney Marsh Ram (above 16 and under 28 months, such ram to be the property of a breeder whose flock is recastered in the New Zealand Stock Book (5.1.) ; and Border Leicester Ewe, under 10 months, the same conditions to apply.—Offer accepted. Mr W. B. Cunningham offered £3 3s for a special prize to be given to the competitor, who, in the opinion of the judge in the Shorthorn cattle judging competition, placed the animals most correctly on his card. —Offer accepted. Major Glendinning wrote asking permission to erect a barricade on (he embankment in connection with the miniature rifle range that was to be used near the Drill Hall. —Permission was granted. It was decided, on account of the railway restrictions, to abandon the Horse Parade and Bull Fair for this year.
