HER NEW COM MAN DEI!. (Per United Press Association.) W ELM XGTON, September 21. The Minister for Internal Affairs Hon. G. W. Russell) lias received, through the High Commissioner, a letter from Captain .lonn E. K, Green, who lias succeeded Captain Lionel Halsey iu command of the battle-cruiser New Zealand. Captain Green writes : —"I have tlie honour to inform you that Captain Lionel Halsey having been appointed to the iron Duke as Commodore (Ist class.) and captain of the fleet, J have taken over command of H.M.H. New Zealand in iiis place. Having followed the history of the ship since she was first offered to the Motser Country, I fully appreciate tiie honour and responsibility which has been conferred on me by their lordships, and i can assure you that I shall do my utmost to maintain the high state of efficiency in which 1 have found the ship, that she may be a credit to the dominion and make a worthy response to the patriotism and foresight of iter people on the next occasion of her being tried."
