Sept. 21. Received Sopl. 2 1. 11.15 p.m. Writing to the Daily Chronicle laird Curzon protests .against the suggestion that ho is prepared to give an ultimatum to hlij colleagues in the British Cabinet. He has been a convinced supporter of universal service for many years and is a thousand times more .so now. when La believes that we cannot win the war without it; but lie has .scrupulously refrained from making a speech, or writs ing letters, or giving interviews, being content to act in a spirit of loyalty towards the Premier and his colleagues, without which spirit the Cabinet and the Government would become impossible.
