(By Cleek.) The Easter tournament opened yesterday in atrocious weather, hall, snow and sleet interfering with play. The qualifying rounds resulted as follows;

Cuthhertson won the morning medal liandica.p, and Robertshaw the afternoon trophy.

The annual meeting of the Ladies Golf Club was hold on Thursday, the 25th. Tho attendance was not as Rood as usual, which was to be regretted, as this opens the first year on our links. The report could not have been hotter. Play improved to a marked extent, especially in the case of the nigh handicapped players. Entries for the weekly matches broke all records, and the committee were greatly assisted in their work by the keenness of the players. The balance sheet was satis factory .and leaves us with a credit balance of over £lO, having previously donated most of our money for improvements at Otatara. Arrangements are being made for the opening day when the usual combined foursomes will he played. The date fixed is lath April. On and after that date the motor 'bus will run out every 'Thursday, leaving from the Post Office at 12.45. Members of tlie club who have usually given prizes are this year giving money towards a ’bus fund. From this fund will be drawn any deficiency aid si ng through lack of patronage. and in (ids way wo null ntakc the ’hits fare every Thursday not more than one shilling return. All members wishing to help in this way will kindly let the secretary know. Re visitors at Otatara. We believe there is some little misapprehension. Residents of Invercargill who are not members of the club do not come under the category of visitors, and visitors should be introduced by a member and obtain a card from the secretary. The president during the year asked all members of the cluh to donate some article of baby’s clothing for Belgian babies, and as the result was so satisfactory. Miss Thomson has asked the club to repeat the good work. All willing to do so will please send their contributions to Mrs Itaggiti. A medal competition is being arranged throughout Xew Zealand. Matches to be held once a month; entrance fee Is. All clubs taking part to give the proceeds to help the Red Cross fund.
