LUMSDEN SCHOOL. (From Our Own Correspondent). “Belgium Day” in Lumsden school was taken up most energetically by the pupils. Flowers, fruit and vegetables, besides articles of household utility were on stile at many points of the township and most of the juvenile traders seemed to do good business. Even a shoe-black brigade. the members of which were to he seen at several points of vantage, put in a good day’s work - . 31any of the pupils did farm work of various kinds, others took- up rabbiting while many girls hired themselves out for a day’s domestic work, in all eases handing over to the fund the proceeds of their labour. Key and F. Robertson, a pair of white rabbits from Stanley Tovvnson, and a turkey, the gift of 31 r Clearwater. The doll, which realised about £lO, was tho gift of Mrs R. W. Edgar, while a picture, the gift of 3lrs Cantrell, biougbt in l something like 30s.
