ISSUES FALSE WAR NEWS. PUBLICAN FINED. (By Telegraph—'Press Assn—Copyright,.) * MELBOURNE, April 2. The first prosecutions under tho War Precautions Act resulted in a publican being fined 40s for posting a false report in front of his hotel reading : “The Runic was torpedoed in tho English Channel with Australian troops aboard.” Other men were fined 20s for spreading the report.
