The second fixture of the GummicsG ropers anil Wild Rush Plough ing Association took place yesterday in favotiralde circumstances. The elongated name might in tile lirsl place appear ns a drawback, hut il in fact represents a combination of districts, which ought to command success in any venture of the kind. Tins young association is no doubt progressing. because. compared with last year, there were three more entries. The indication is that scientific ploughing is gaining popularity, .and that in future years such events will become increasingly popular. With regard to yesterday's performances it may he said that there is very little to add beyond the fact that the ploughing compared very favourably with that which had been noted at Drummond and Wrey's Rush, and that Mr Arthur I.imlsny broke his brother Trank's sequence of wins. "The ploughing was. witli regard to quality, of the vi ry hast, notwithstanding t lie fact that tiie ground was of a ‘‘shoot nig" quality. Mr .1. McFarlane again asserted himself wiili three-horse teams. as also did Mtssrs Win. Gray and Sorts, the llrtimmcmil decisions being therefore upheld. Tlic jumping competition resulted as follows: — W. Keith's The Jew 1. W. l.edingham's Cody J. W. 1.. Gardiner's Royal Guard Then- were fifteen entries. Following is the prize list: —
