NEW ZEALAND BUTTER

THE CALIFORNIAN - STRICTURES. INDUSTRY REVOLUTIONISED. (Per United Press Association). NEW PYLMOUTH, April 15. A letter just received by Mr E. Griffiths, local dairy produce merchant, from Boston, states that New Zealand butter has completely revolutionised tlje butter industry of the Pacific Coast, and the middle of the country. It has put the Californian butter out of repute very much and is liked also in New York. The only drawback is that some lots have contained traces of preservative. The writer states that one lot of New Zealand butter, bought in New York, was the slickest piece of butter he ever saw. "Its magnificent velvety texture and perfectly clear flavour has taken tho conceit out of some of our butter people, who have always had the Idea that they knew all about the butter business. But it is Very evident we can get points from you.” He predicts a greatly increased trade when the Panama Canal opens.
