Mr Justice Cooper, in indicting a sentence of seven years' imprisonment upon Thos, Henry Tucket on a, charge of coni? mitting an unnatural offence, said he had considered the question of ordering a severe flogging, but in the case of a young man who was dangerous to the community ho thought is better that lie should be incarcerated for a lengthy period. ' XAPIIS It SUPREME COURT. NAPIER, March 10. A sitting of the .Supreme Court opened to-day before Mr Justice Edwards. The Grand Jury found true bills in all seven cases put before them. A Chinaman named Shoo Slung was found not guilty of attempting to carnally know .and indecently assaulting a Maori girl under 10 years of age. John Mahalm, who pleaded guilty to a charge of flic theftrdf two totalisator tickets, valued at I G 10s, was admitted to probation. A foreigner named Henry Schilling, pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault on a married woman, and was ordered to come tip for sentence when called upon.
