Twelve men tied shirts and descended from the fifth lloor on to an adjoining roof, while another man leaped a ten feet chasm which separated two building. and escaped with minor bruises. Most of the escapees wore their night attire only. The manager of the Athletic Club refused to leave the building until ho had given the alarm to everyone staying tli ere. Several firemen were injured by falling walls.
