THAW ARRESTED
HIDING IN CANADA. DEPORTATION ORDERED. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. , OTTAWA. August 39. ■ The Montreal police report the arrest of Harry Thaw. He was hiding in the little village of Coaticook, in Quebec Province. The Canadian immigration authorities have ordered Thaw’s deportation. PROTEST AGAINST EXTRADITION. A SMART SHERIFF. Times—Sydney Sun Special Cable, OTTAWA. August 2d. Received August 20, 7.30 p.m. Thaw was captured an hour after he had crossed the frontier. admitted: his identity, but declared that he could not be extradited, as he had not committed a crime. The arrest was due to a Sheriff wh» recognised him at Maine railway station* and followed him to Canada.
